the game too. Mega Bingo has thought of everything, just press play and
pause it's that easy. This game will pay for itself in less than one night!
Questions & Answers
How do I print the Bingo tickets that come on the DVD?
Easy, click here
Why 2 DVD's ?
Well, there are several reasons... The most useful is if you lose, scratch
or break one of them, you'll always have a fully functional Bingo DVD.
To have animated graphics you can only have so many different games on
a DVD. Your DVD player will pick games at random but after a while you will
get back to the begining again. This is not a problem unless you play hours of
none stop games in 1 night, if you do then swap DVD's every 1 to 2 hours.
Is it still traditional?
Oh yes, all the favourite calls like "those legs 11", "the Brighton line 59"
"key of the door 21" etc..etc...etc.. In fact hardened Bingo veterens love it!
Players will never miss a number either because Mega Bingo displays the
numbers in two places in very large graphics as well as calling them out very
clearly. Even better on a giant screen!
What makes Mega Bingo different?
It's a new modern approach to Bingo, the music really makes a difference.
Bingo gets a bad reception from the younger crowd because it's a quiet
stuffy old game and Mega Bingo sets out to change all this.
By carefully balancing the voice calling the numbers and the background
music so that each number can be heard without mistake, Mega Bingo
really transforms the game into something more enjoyable and modern.
Some, older Bingo regulars, may not be used to music playing while
they mark off the numbers, but they will soon get used to it. If 8 year olds
have no problem with playing Mega Bingo then why should an expert?
Do you have to have music?
No, not at all. If your audience just happen to be a load of elderly folk
and they won't stop moaning about the music then turn it off!
You can use Mega Bingo as a really fancy Bingo machine and call the numbers
yourself as they appear on the screen, if you like.
During the testing period of 6 months, played every night, in a family show
bar, not once did anyone complain about the music. But some people just
have to moan don't they, if it's just one or two don't let them spoil it
for everyone else. They'll soon stop moaning when they see everyone tapping
their feet while they play. Mega Bingo is fun!
Large Noisy Crowds?
If your Bar is full, a crowd of people can be very loud indeed,
TV speakers would be useless. In this situation you would be recomended
to connect your DVD player through an amplifier and speakers. Because
Mega Bingo is recorded in Dolby stereo it sounds truly amazing this way.
Also, when the game is being played, look out for noisy people that are
not playing. People who don't like Bingo generally try to spoil it for
everyone else, be firm and ask them to lower their volume out of respect.
What age group?
Because the numbers are displayed very clearly on the screen, children
as young as six can play. But make sure that young children only have
one card, not a whole strip of six! They won't be able to keep up and
you will spend all your time checking their tickets to see if they missed any.
Tutorials
To make the Bingo tickets you will need a PC with a DVD player
and a printer. Most PC's come with Microsoft Office and Office
comes with Microsoft Word a handy word processor. We will use
Word as an example but the theory is the same whatever drawing
software you use. I would recomend Corel Draw or some other
drawing software because they are designed for this.
If you know what you are doing then here´s a brief description
of how best to lay out the Bingo tickets before you print them.
First of all change the page orientation to landscape, all drawing
programs start off in Portrait as standard. This way you can fit
two Bingo tickets on each A4 sheet.
Secondly, import two Bingo tickets off either of the DVD's and
place them side by side on the page. You want to size the tickets
as big as you can, so there is only a small gap from the edge of the
tickets to the edge of the page. Make the gap between the two
tickets twice the size of the gap around the edge, this way
when you cut them out they will be the same size.
Don't forget to save the page each time so you don't have to
do all the work again, just print them off. Have fun!
For PC beginners here is the Word Tutorial in plain English.
You may find it easier if you print this page and follow the tutorial
on paper while you have Microsoft Word on your screen.
Lets Begin
Insert either of the Mega Bingo DVD's into the computers' DVD drive and wait.
Depending on how your computer is set up, the DVD might start to Auto-play.
We do not want the game to play, so if it is, close the window that's playing it.
Locate Microsoft Word on your PC, you should find it in your programs in the Start menu, and start it.
You should have a blank sheet of paper with a cursor flashing on the screen now. Make sure the Word window is filling the whole screen by clicking maximise in the top right hand corner of Word.
The page is the wrong way round and the margins are too big.
We need to change these, this is easy...
In the top left hand corner you will see File, click on this once and a drop down list appears.
In this list find page setup... click on this and you've got the page properties box in front of you.
Inside this box change the margin values top, bottom, left and right to 0.5
You will see that the page orientation is set to portrait, change it to landscape and click OK.
Now you have the page the right way round and smaller margins.
(The margin lines are lines of dashes around the edge of the page)
The cursor should be flashing in the top left corner of the page,
if it's not use the arrow keys to put it there.
Next we want to place the Bingo tickets on the blank sheet of paper, because we changed the page orientation to landscape we can fit two Bingo tickets on each page.
At the top of the screen find insert, click this once and in the drop down list choose picture,
then choose from file....
We need to find the Bingo tickets on the DVD which is in the computers DVD drive. In the box that just opened up look for
look in: next to it is a small down arrow, click on it and a drop down menu opens up.
You should see a list of drives, one of them is the DVD, double click this and you will see the folder containing the Bingo tickets.
Double click the Bingo tickets folder and you will see the tickets numbered 1 to 100. Click on Bingo ticket 1 only once to select it, hold down the Ctrl key and keep it pressed while you click on Bingo ticket 2. This way you have selected two tickets, which should now be highlighted, let go of the Ctrl key and click on insert.
You should now have two Bingo tickets next to each other on the page, but they could be bigger.
Click on the first Bingo ticket and you will see a box appear around it, in each corner of the box are little black squares. Move the mouse pointer to the bottom right corner of the box and over the black square. The pointer should turn into a double, diagonal arrow. When it does, hold down the left mouse button and drag the box down to the margin line at the bottom of the page.
Let go of the mouse button and you should have one big Bingo card and one small. Try to make sure the gap around the outside of the big Bingo ticket is the same distance from the edge of the page on all sides. The gap between the big and small Bingo ticket is tiny, to solve this move the mouse pointer between the tickets and click until you see the flashing cursor between them. Once you have this, press the space bar a few times until the gap between them looks twice the size as the gap around the edges of the big Bingo ticket. Now click on the small Bingo ticket and move the pointer to the top right corner of the box, hold down the left mouse button and drag the box to the top margin line.
The reason we are so fussy about the gaps between the tickets and the egdes of the page being the same is important. When you cut them out you want them to be the same size.
Why not use different coloured paper to print the tickets on, pale colours are best.
IMPORTANT, save the tickets you just made now!
Click on File in the top left hand corner of the window, from the drop down menu select
Save as...
A save box will open, you need to find the my documents folder and double click it.
You want to keep all the Bingo tickets in the same place so we will create a new folder and call it Bingo tickets.
To create a new folder, right click on a space anywhere in the list of your documents and select new and then folder. You will see an new folder with the name highlighted, type Bingo tickets on your keyboard and press enter or return.
Now you have a folder called Bingo tickets in your documents. Double click the Bingo tickets folder and name your file Bingo tickets 1 & 2 and click save.
Let's print them...
Look for the little printer logo at the top of the screen and click it.
Hey presto! You have two Bingo tickets.
This might look like a lot of work, but the first time is always the hardest.
Now you have set up the page the way you need it you only need to delete the Bingo tickets and insert 2 different ones each time. Left click on each ticket so the box appears around the edge, right click and choose cut. When you have a blank page repeat the process from........
Insert, picture, from file..., hold down Ctrl and select tickets 3 & 4, click insert.
Click on the first ticket and drag it to the margin, repeat for the second ticket.
File, Save as... name the file Bingo tickets 3 & 4 and click save.
Then print.
As you can see it's not much work really and after making a few you should be able to create 2 Bingo tickets in less than a minute.
Once you have saved all the Bingo tickets on your computer you will never have to do this again. Simply open your documents, find the bingo tickets, double click and print. Simple hey?
